Editorial Workflow

At Prime Peer, we follow a transparent, ethical, and rigorous editorial process to ensure the integrity and quality of all manuscripts submitted for publication.

1. Submission Acknowledgement

Upon successful online submission of a manuscript, an official acknowledgment is sent to the corresponding author, confirming receipt of the article.

2. Initial Screening – Plagiarism & Pre-QC

Every submitted manuscript undergoes a dual-layer plagiarism screening process using iThenticate and manual cross-verification by our editorial staff. Manuscripts with significant duplication or unethical content will be immediately rejected without review.

Those passing the plagiarism and Pre-Quality Control (Pre-QC) check will move forward for editorial consideration.

3. Editorial Assignment

The manuscript is then assigned to an Editor with domain expertise who evaluates the manuscript based on:

  • Scientific merit
  • Novelty and originality
  • Ethical compliance
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

The assigned editor holds the authority to accept, reject, or recommend revision based on the preliminary review.

4. Peer Review Process

If the manuscript passes editorial scrutiny, it is forwarded to 2–3 expert reviewers for double-blind peer review. Reviewers are asked to:

  • Evaluate the technical quality and originality
  • Provide detailed comments and suggestions
  • Recommend one of the following: Acceptance, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejection

5. Decision Criteria

  • If at least two out of three reviewers recommend acceptance (or conditional revision), the manuscript proceeds to the next stage.
  • If the majority suggest rejection, the manuscript will be declined, and the decision, along with reviewer feedback, will be communicated to the author.
  • For revisions, authors are required to resubmit the corrected manuscript with a point-by-point response to the reviewer comments.

6. Post-Revision Evaluation

Revised manuscripts are reassessed by the handling editor and, if necessary, sent back to the original reviewers for final evaluation. Only upon satisfactory resolution of all critical issues, the manuscript will be accepted.

Note: The Editor’s decision is final at all stages of the process, including post-review disputes or appeals.

7. Final Production and Publication

Once accepted, the manuscript enters the production phase:

  • Final formatting, proofreading, and metadata checks are performed
  • Full-text HTML and PDF formats are prepared
  • The article is published Online First under the “Articles in Press” section within 3–5 working days of acceptance

8. Publication Timelines

Prime Peer is committed to a 14-day fast-track peer review process*, enabling rapid editorial decisions while maintaining high scholarly standards.

*Timeline depends on timely reviewer response and complete author submission.
